FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Platforms, pricing and how your data is handled. If your question is not here, feel free to reach out.

What does it run on?
Caltimate is a Mac-only app for macOS 14 (Sonoma) and later. It runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel.
How much does it cost?
The beta is in preparation and pricing will be announced at launch. The booking page (book.caltimate.com) is free to use today.
Which calendars does it sync with?
Google Calendar. You can connect several Google accounts and view or edit them together.
Where is my data stored?
Your events live in Google. App settings, auth tokens and background images stay on your Mac; nothing is sent to Caltimate servers.
What are the microphone and speech permissions for?
Only for voice entry of events and tasks. Transcription uses macOS speech recognition, and the microphone is used only while you are recording.
Is location required?
It is used only to show local weather. Decline it and the app simply shows Tokyo weather; nothing else is affected.
Is the Apple Reminders integration mandatory?
No, it is opt-in. Enable it when you want tasks on your calendar; access is requested only then.
Does it work offline?
You can browse events already loaded. Creating events and syncing require an internet connection.
How do I disconnect and delete my data?
Remove the account from the sidebar and stored tokens are destroyed. You can also revoke access any time from your Google account security page.
When does it launch?
The beta is being prepared now. We will announce the date as soon as it is set.
